Sveinns Vineyard: Won Best Bacchus with our Bacchus Fumé 2025 at the WineGB East awards. This recognition is particularly meaningful to us, as our Bacchus range, especially our Fumé, is the result of years of dedication, refinement, and expertise from our Viticulturist, Chris Hatto, and Head of Sveinn’s Hamlet, Simon Cruickshank. To see their hard work acknowledged with the highest honour in its category is a fantastic achievement for the entire team.
Our Fumé takes our award-winning Bacchus taste and flavour and ferments it in oak rather than entirely in stainless steel tanks. The term “Fumé” doesn’t mean the wine is smoky; it refers to a richer, more complex style. It was great to see this version of our Bacchus flavour enjoyed by the judges.
The success didn’t end there: Sveinns Vineyard also earned a medal for our Pinot Noir Rosé 2025 and Bacchus 2025. After a strong 2024 where we were award with the Rising Star award, this years awards underline the early promise of this young Norfolk vineyard. With such strong results so early on, Sveinns is clearly on a path toward an exciting and distinguished future.

Check out our Vine View Campsite based in the village of Swainsthorpe situated on the A140 between Dunston and Newton Flotman behind the SugarBeat eating house. We have a beautiful south facing area with spacious all year-round pitches with electric points to every pitch and running water. Dogs are welcome but to be kept on leads. BBQs are allowed. Ball games are permitted. We supply fire pits with logs on request. There is a toilet waste disposal point.
