Award-Winning Bacchus
Sveinns Vineyard: A Rising Star with Award-Winning Bacchus. Sveinns Vineyard has firmly announced its arrival on the English wine scene, winning the Best Bacchus award for their Bacchus Fumé 2024 a remarkable achievement for a vineyard planted only in 2019. Just a few years into production and located close to Norwich, Sveinns is already proving it’s a name to watch.
The judges described the Bacchus Fumé as “zesty and energetic. A great expression of English Bacchus.” Its vibrancy, clarity and freshness made it a standout in a highly competitive category, confirming both the vineyard’s potential and the skill of its winemaking team.
Their success didn’t end there: Sveinns Vineyard also earned a medal for their Rosé 2024, underlining the early promise of this young Norfolk vineyard. With such strong results so early on, Sveinns is clearly on a path toward an exciting and distinguished future.

About Us
A Family Run Vineyard in the Heart of Norfolk
Nestled in the gentle countryside of Swainsthorpe, just south of Norwich, Sveinn’s Hamlet is an independent, family-run vineyard established in 2020. Our name is a tribute to the area’s rich history
Sveinn’s Hamlet was the old Norse name for Swainsthorpe, reflecting the land’s deep roots and timeless character.
At Sveinn’s Hamlet, we combine a respect for tradition with a forward-thinking approach to English viticulture. Every vine is carefully tended by hand, and every bottle reflects our commitment to quality, sustainability, and local heritage. From our very first planting, we’ve dedicated ourselves to producing elegant, expressive wines that speak of the land they come from.
Whether you’re a curious visitor, a dedicated wine lover, or simply someone who appreciates the story behind the bottle, we invite you to discover what makes Sveinn’s Hamlet a truly special vineyard.
